Zim to delay Asia-Europe US$275/TEU rate increase until August 1
July 15--ISRAELI flag carrier Zim Integrated Shipping has announced it will delay its July general rate increase of US$275 per TEU to August 1. The hike applies to westbound cargo from Asia and Indian subcontinent to West Mediterranean, Adriatic and north Europe, said a company statement. This follows Mediterranean Shipping Company's (MSC) move to postpone its $250 per TEU rate increase on Asia-North Europe-Mediterranean services from July 1 to August 1, reports Newark's Journal of Commerce, also noting Maersk's earlier decision to re-launch its delayed June Asia-North Europe rate to July.
